The next few weeks are decisive for the World Championships, to be held in London from July 14 to 23. It´s time to start packing and make the final preparations for the Championships in the high performance centre in Madrid-the best place there is.
And, as always, I would like to thank all those who have allowed me again to represent Spain in the national team in this international event. We will be competing alongside the best athletes in the world.
Among those I´d like to thank, in addition to my family and my closest friends, I would like to start by mentioning three names: Alonso Gómez, José María López and Juanma Molina. They are three people who have always been there for me. My fellow travellers who have been with me in the good times and, above all, in the bad times, when things did not work out. I can honestly say that we are so lucky in the Region of Murcia that Alonso is our director of sports and, especially we athletes, that Juanma is the President of the Athletics Federation. There were many moments when I complained about different organisations, and I will continue doing so when I think I should. But it is worth mentioning that Alonso and Juanma are two role model in the management of sport by always being close to sportsmen and women. As for José María, my mentor in the world of sports, what can I say? A friend, a second parent, my support, my counsellor. Nor could I forget the Ministry of Education, and Maribel Sánchez-Mora, despite the fact that she no longer holds the position of counsellor, she is always willing to listen to me and give me her whole-hearted support in developing my other great passion- educational projects. I hope that the new team will follow Maribel´s lead and that the new Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport will be able to bring the values of sport to our educational system. Whether you are from Madrid or from any other part of the country, you will always have my help for this.
I also want to take the opportunity to thank the UCAM, who are always there when they are needed. Thanks to Pablo Rosique, the Mendoza family, Juan Alfonso – my personal tutor – and all the teachers for your time and effort. Being at the top is much less difficult with your help. I would also like to thank SKECHERS, Kon Sports, RannersMurcia, San Javier Physiotherapy, Optica Iniesta and, of course, the Region of Murcia for their support. I hope to continue to count on you for a long time.
Finally, I would like to thank the staff of PDM San Javier, and the Mayor and Councillor for Sports, who, despite some differences we may have had, decided to continue putting their faith in me.
And last but not least, I´d like to thank you, the readers, followers on social networks, friends and colleagues who practice and / or follow sport. You are the ones who give all of this meaning. When the important events arrive, you are the ones that make it possible for me to continue saying thank you , the ones who are on my side while I run after my dream.
